FDIC-Insured - Backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government

Atlanta (May 5, 2021) – The global pandemic has eliminated the need for cash or, in some cases, even credit and debit cards at restaurants, as many customers limit their exposure when they transact and prefer to pay through technology. Now more than ever, restaurants and hotels want to provide customers with an ordering and payment experience that reduces face-to-face contact between staff and customers, and removes items that are frequently touched by multiple people such as printed menus, cash and bills.
To give restaurant customers more flexibility and control of how they order and pay, Elavon, a global payments provider and subsidiary of U.S. Bank, and BookingTek, a London-based hospitality software provider, have partnered to introduce a new smartphone application – TableRes. The app is available free-of-charge to medium and large restaurant chains and food service businesses in the United States and Canada that process payments with Elavon.
TableRes will provide contactless guest experiences in all types of restaurants (from fast food to full service) and allow guests to order and pay at the table without interaction with a server. It will also provide direct pre-order and pre-payment functionality for delivery, pickup at the counter or curbside and drive-thru.
“Businesses are looking for ways to easily deliver a contactless, digital option to customers,” said Jamie Walker, Elavon CEO. “One of the ways we provide those capabilities is through our strategic partnerships, where the partner’s software and capabilities open new doors for us to deliver our trusted payments technology to more businesses.”
“In these trying times, it’s essential that the hospitality industry equips itself with contactless technology to help manage social distancing at all stages of the customer journey,” added Matthew Stubbs, CEO of BookingTek. “Partnering with Elavon gives BookingTek an easy way to plug in and provide payment services that customers need during and after COVID-19 times.”
Elavon is well positioned to accept mobile wallet and contactless card payments with tools that enable acceptance of safe and secure card-not-present (CNP) third-party transactions and in-app payments. Elavon helps hospitality businesses mitigate fraudulent transactions with EMV 3D Secure implementing the latest payment authentication standards (or technology).
The TableRes app can be embedded in the restaurant or hotel’s existing app or it can be a standalone iOS or Android app. It’s also available as a mobile web app that doesn’t need to be downloaded, and just requires customers to scan a QR code.
Fast food and fast casual restaurants can use the app to allow customers to find the closest location, see the menu, order and pre-pay for pickup at the counter, curbside, drive-thru or delivery. With TableRes, full-service restaurant customers are able to reserve a table and on arrival view the full menu, order and then pay at the table, eliminating contact with staff and physical items like paper menus, bills and payment cards.
In addition, restaurants that use the app can choose to have free access to a powerful, integrated floor management system that manages bookings from all sources. It also manages guests, profiles, tables, servers, waitlists and a whole host of other front of house functions.
Elavon customers will have access to BookingTek’s new smartphone application TableRes with zero setup costs and zero monthly fees. The merchants will only pay Elavon fees for their processing services.
